Biography

Brian Kramer is a dedicated educator and advocate with a passion for making positive changes in his community. He graduated with honors from American University with a degree in Political Science and Secondary Education, where he served as Vice President of the School of Education Undergraduate Council.

​

He is one of 34 members of the second cohort of Harvard Law School's Future Leaders in Law program, where he completed an on-campus residency, shadowed at the headquarters of Paul, Weiss, and received support throughout the law school application process.

​

Brian has experience at local and state levels of government, including internships with members of the Maryland General Assembly and work on numerous local political campaigns. He also played a key role in expanding public bus service for thousands of students, securing a new building for his high school, and pushing for more equitable education policies and practices in Montgomery County. 

​

At Bethesda-Chevy Chase High School, Brian teaches 160 students about government and politics. He also serves as coach of the school mock trial team, where under his leadership they competed in the county championship for the first time in school history. 

​

Brian plays an active role in his teachers union, including by helping negotiate a contract for 10,000 educators that expanded their autonomy, and by serving as a union building representative speaking up for the rights and dignity of fellow educators.

​

Outside of his teaching and advocacy work, Brian is active in nonprofit organizations. He serves on the boards of Communities United Against Hate, which supports student activism, and Empowering The Ages, a nonprofit that creates intergenerational connections to support stronger communities.
